The funeral of Jackson Boyd, attorney and author, whose death occurred on Tuesday at his home on East Seminary Street of heart disease following an illness of pneumonia will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home. There will be no ministerial services. Remarks by Judge James P. Hughes who has known Mr. Boyd during his legal career and Emerson Ballard of Crawfordsville, a close personal life-long friend of Mr. Boyd will mark the services at the home. The services at the grave will be conducted by the members of the Psi Phi fraternity of which Mr. Boyd was a member. The regular Phi Psi ritualistic funeral services will be used.  There will be solos by DePauw University soloists at each the home and cemetery. The death of Mr. Boyd came as a great shock to the many Putnam County people who knew of his illness. He was reported to be progressing nicely until the sudden attack of heart disease which proved fatal.  Mr. Boyd has been identified with the legal profession in Putnam County for many years and was looked up to by many of the poorer class as their advisor in their legal transactions. No one in Greencastle was a closer or better friend to the poor man than Mr. Boyd. He had been active in politics, having served his country as its representative being elected by the Democrats. Later he deserted the Democratic party and affiliated himself with the Progressive party and at its demise declared himself an Independent voter.  As a student and author, Mr. Boyd was prominent.  He had written and had had published one book and was at work on a manuscript of a second at the time of his death.  Only one living relative a cousin, Fred Albin of Brazil survives.
